Your role
The ICI Toronto programming department is looking for a Radio Host to join À échelle humaine, a weekly sociocultural magazine airing Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on ICI Première.
You are curious, creative, rigorous, and genuinely interested in people. You will host a weekly program that highlights the diverse Francophone communities of Ontario. The show serves audiences in Toronto, Northern Ontario, and Windsor.
Under the supervision of the Producer, you will prepare content to be presented live or pre-recorded for broadcast. You will also implement strategies to reach and engage with our audiences.
Your strong editorial judgment and thorough understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices enable you to contribute to the preparation of program content. You will propose interview and story topics, develop interview outlines in collaboration with the production team, conduct research, and reach out to potential guests. You will also edit audio segments.
Your digital presence allows you to showcase program content on the web. You will represent Radio-Canada at networking and community events, helping to strengthen ties with the Francophone community.
You demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and strong teamwork skills. You are able to collaborate effectively within a newsroom environment and with colleagues from other programs.
You embody and promote values of inclusion and respect in the workplace. You are familiar with the population, communities, issues, and culture of Ontario—particularly those of Toronto, Northern Ontario, and Windsor.
The work is governed by CBC/Radio-Canada’s journalistic and programming policies, standards, and practices.
This is a one-year full-time contract position. The successful candidate may be required to work overtime, and the schedule may vary depending on operational needs. Occasional travel related to programming may also be required.
