Position: Lead BIS (Business Information Systems) Operations - Site Manager

Location: Ghent - fully on-site

Client: Global Leading Biotechnology

Type: Full-time contract - 6-12 months

Overview:

The IT Operations & Support Lead will oversee all technology operations across the Ghent Campus, covering base building systems and desktop technology across six buildings (with ongoing expansion). This hands-on leadership role ensures seamless on-site IT operations, high-quality user support, and efficient service delivery in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Main Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day IT operations and support across multiple buildings and floors within the Ghent Campus.
Lead and mentor on-site support teams (both internal staff and external vendors).
Deliver outstanding internal customer service with quick response and resolution times.
Manage and optimise desktop technology, base building IT systems, and related infrastructure.
Proactively identify and resolve issues while maintaining stability during rapid growth and scaling.
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders and vendors to manage equipment, installations, and services.
Ensure compliance with ITIL and ITSM standards in a highly regulated industry.
Collaborate closely with users to develop scalable, efficient, and user-friendly support processes.
Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and maintain operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

Main Requirements

Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT operations and support, including leadership experience in a hands-on capacity.
Proven track record in a highly regulated industry (life sciences preferred).
Strong understanding of desktop and infrastructure support across multiple sites.
Experience managing transitions and scaling operations rapidly.
Proficiency with ServiceNow, ITIL, and ITSM processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead by example, manage on-site support teams, and coordinate multiple service providers.
Strong relationship-building skills with users and stakeholders.
Energetic, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
Dutch preferred (French acceptable).
