Job Location: Warren, MI (Hybrid – 3 days onsite ~ Tue - Thu)

Job Type: Contract ~ (6 Months)

Pay Range: $28.50 – 32.22 / hourly

Job Description:

Role Overview

The DFMEA Process Support Coordinator provides organizational and technical assistance to the engineering team by managing documentation, coordinating review sessions, and integrating AI tools to streamline workflows.

This temporary, fee-for-service position supports project execution by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office and AI applications, and capable of coordinating across technical teams without requiring an engineering background.

Top 3 Must-Have Skills:

Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
5–7 years of experience in technical or coordination roles.
Program management or product development experience.

Scope of Work

Coordinate and facilitate DFMEA review sessions; track and close action items.
Record DFMEA inputs and ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation.
Prepare and maintain summary reports, progress trackers, and glide paths.
Enter and manage Jira user stories and related project tasks.
Integrate and train AI tools to enhance DFMEA data capture, consistency, and workflow efficiency.
Collaborate with technical leads to streamline daily output tracking and follow-ups.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with AI tools and process automation (prompting, data structuring, workflow training).
Basic technical aptitude; engineering degree not required.
Prior exposure to DFMEA or DFMA documentation preferred.

About the Team

The team focuses on hardware design and development for new technology products in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This is a growing initiative, building out a new team to support next-generation product development.

Typical Day

Prepare for daily DFMEA review meetings by organizing and validating documentation.
Translate meeting discussions into Jira entries and action items.
Host and document daily stand-up meetings (1–2 hours).
Capture notes, distribute meeting minutes, and set expectations for follow-up sessions.
Work with technical experts to integrate and enhance AI tools for process efficiency.
Conduct quality checks on AI-generated outputs.
Interaction Level: Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of approximately 30 engineers and technical experts.
Environment: Dynamic and fast-paced; opportunities for extension or potential conversion to a full-time role.

Candidate Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree (technology field preferred).
Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Background: Experience in program management or product development; exposure to DFMEA methodology and structured documentation.

Interview & Selection Process

Step 1: Initial virtual interview (15–20 minutes – overview and experience discussion).
Step 2: In-person interview (30 minutes – team interaction and site overview).
