Coupa Sourcing Specialist – Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid schedule: Tuesday–Thursday in office, Monday & Friday remote)
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Coupa Sourcing Specialist to lead the evaluation and enhancement of our current use of the Coupa platform. This role focuses on optimizing supplier onboarding, RFP management, contract lifecycle, and risk review processes. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in implementing and improving Coupa systems and will drive improvements, execute changes, and train internal stakeholders across departments.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct a comprehensive review of existing Coupa processes across supplier onboarding, RFPs, contract management, and risk modules.
Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation or simplification.
Benchmark current usage against best practices and industry standards.
Design and implement optimized workflows within Coupa to improve usability, compliance, and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Legal, Risk, and IT to align improvements with business needs.
Configure and test Coupa modules to support new processes and enhancements.
Develop and deliver training materials and sessions tailored to various user groups.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees during and after implementation.
Champion adoption and ensure consistent usage of improved processes.
Create documentation for new processes, configurations, and training guides.
Track and report on KPIs related to Coupa usage and process improvements.
Maintain a feedback loop with users to continuously refine and enhance the platform.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven experience implementing and optimizing Coupa platforms, especially in supplier onboarding, sourcing, contracts, and risk.
Strong understanding of procurement and sourcing processes.
Experience with process mapping, change management, and training delivery.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Proficiency in JDE preferred.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Solid financial acumen and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain trusting relationships.
Ability to meet project deadlines and manage resources effectively.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field.
Coupa certifications or formal training preferred.
Experience / Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and/or IT Support roles.
Experience with procurement transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with compliance and risk frameworks in supplier management.
Experience in process-focused roles such as procurement operations, sourcing systems management, IT, or consulting is a plus.
