Join the OMIA team as a Junior Programmer.

The Junior Programmer will support and guide various departments in identifying and implementing efficiency improvements. This role is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and deploying innovative applications to enhance operational effectiveness across the organization.

Skills, Knowledge, and Personal Competencies

Minimum 3 years' experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate; or equivalent programming experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft products and understanding of database architecture concepts
Proven ability to manage the full software development lifecycle
Foundational knowledge of IT security and cybersecurity best practices
Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Effective planning, organizational, and time management abilities
Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional communication
Strong conceptual thinking and research skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

This role performs work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment with OMIA staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Business Analysis

Collaborate with all departments to gather and document business requirements
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains

Application Development

Design and develop modern applications to streamline and simplify existing workflows
Conduct thorough testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance
Collect and evaluate user feedback to drive continuous improvement and updates

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Provide support to staff in resolving operational issues
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems to ensure smooth daily operations

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent experience
Optional Professional Certifications (Typically aligned with current software and technology solutions in place, e.g. Microsoft)

Environment & Travel

General Office, hybrid working environment
Approximately 5 days of travel annually

The work week consists of 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. We are currently hybrid with 2 to 3 days in the office; however, this is subject to change in the future.
