Azure Infrastructure Architect (Technical)

Hybrid working policy: 3 days per week required in the office.

DGH Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global professional services firm who are looking for an Azure Infrastructure Architect (technical) to join the team in London.

This is a newly created role, working as part of a globally distributed team and will focus on cloud transformation from on premise infrastructures into the cloud (Azure). The role will suit an individual with strong technical experience in both on premise and cloud based infrastructure (Microsoft) who has experience of cloud transformation programmes at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing current technologies and preparing for cloud transformation, working with the Platform Engineering team
- Develops, maintains and documents infrastructure best practices, guidelines, and guardrails for on-premise and cloud technologies
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design
- Identifies, analyses, and resolves Legacy and cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment issues
- Develops and deploys modular cloud-based systems
- Working with the Platform Engineering team, provide automation enhancements to help keep the environment consistent
- Works with vendor partners to test and benchmark new infrastructure solutions. Provides findings to Infrastructure Architects team and appropriate levels of management
- Works with application and Infrastructure teams, to ensure both new and existing systems follow BC/DR guidelines, have documented plans, and are tested and reviewed on an agreed basis
- Acts as an escalation point for the IT Operations team

Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong experience in on premise to cloud transformation (required)
- Experience automating into public cloud providers (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (required)
- Experience with Azure Migrate
- Experience in private cloud datacentre technology including VMware, Cisco UCS, Dell EMC (required)
- Experience in private cloud networking including Cisco ACI, F5 load balancing, Palo Alto firewall, SDWAN (required)
- PowerShell (preferred)
- Kubernetes (preferred)
- Terraform (preferred)
- Experience of working within a global environment (preferred)
