DevOps Engineer (Windows & Linux)

On-site 5 days a week | Toronto, ON

Overview:

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Windows or Linux system administration and strong infrastructure engineering skills. This role requires proven experience setting up and maintaining systems from the ground up--not just surface-level administration. Candidates must demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience across the full DevOps toolchain.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Windows or Linux servers (Red Hat preferred).
Administer MS SQL with SSIS or Linux-based systems with strong shell/Python scripting skills.
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket, Nexus).
Automate provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, Salt, or similar.
Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP a plus).
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
Monitor and log systems using tools like Splunk, DataDog, ELK, etc.
Ensure security, performance, and scalability of environments.

Must-Have Skills:

5-10 years relevant DevOps / Systems Engineering experience.
Strong Windows or Linux system administration background.
Proven infrastructure setup and configuration experience.
PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripting skills.
Cloud experience (Azure IaaS, AKS, ADLS, ADF).
Strong troubleshooting and engineering mindset.

Nice to Have:

Exposure to big data platforms (Hadoop, Cassandra).
HPC cluster experience.
Familiarity with AutoSys, ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence.
