We're working with a cutting-edge Brain and AI team on a unique project that visualizes real-time neural activations of the human cortex. This interactive demo will showcase how the brain responds to various media stimuli--images, videos, and sounds--through a high-resolution 3D visualization on a web platform.

We're seeking a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to lead the development of this user-facing demo. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front-end engineering, data visualization, and scientific applications, and will collaborate closely with research and design teams to bring this experience to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement interactive controls (rotation, zoom, time cursor, play/pause).
Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and accessibility across devices.
Apply a clean, academic-inspired design system suitable for scientific audiences.
Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and model infrastructure.
Iterate on design and UX based on feedback from research and design teams.

5-10 years in Python (backend, APIs, web frameworks).
Advanced front-end development experience: WebGL, React, GraphQL, Relay.
Familiarity with stylex, Flow, or similar styling and type-checking tools.
Strong back-end experience: Python, Hack, PHP.
Proven experience in interactive data visualization and browser performance optimization.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with scientific data.
Experience with design systems and deployment best practices for web demos is a plus.

Why Apply?

Be part of a pioneering AI and neuroscience initiative.
Collaborate with world-class researchers and designers.
Deliver a high-impact demo for both public and scientific audiences.
Potential for extension into future projects within the same domain.
