As a Site reliability engineer, you will partner with development and IT teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, develop automation and monitoring solutions to ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and future ready.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with DevOps tools, AWS services, containerization and cloud infrastructure along with a passion for driving process improvements and mentoring others.
Responsibilities:
Partner with development and DevOps teams to design and implement STAR's Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
Collaborate with National IT to develop and maintain tooling that supports Continuous Delivery.
Ensure systems and tooling are scalable, future-proof, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
Participate in design and planning sessions to account for changes in tooling or services.
Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Provide mentorship and coaching to peers on Platform Engineering and DevOps best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis, or equivalent work experience.
At least 7 years of experience building and supporting enterprise-level systems as a Platform Engineer in production environments.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with DevOps tools across CI/CD, automation, containerization, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS services (CodePipeline, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, X-Ray).
Strong understanding of APIs, databases, networking, configuration management, monitoring, and security best practices in production environments.
Experience with a broad set of DevOps platforms and services, including:
Operating Systems & Services: Linux (RHEL), WebSphere, Tomcat, Spring Boot
Version Control: Git, Subversion
Build & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI
Code Quality & Security: SonarQube, Fortify
Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Podman, Kubernetes
Configuration & Automation: Puppet, Ansible, Terraform
Monitoring: Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog
Programming/Scripting: Java, C++, C#, Python, Bash
Automated Testing: Selenium, TestComplete
