ServiceNow App Engine Developer
Location: Phoenix, AZ ( Preferred but remote might be an option selectively)
About the Role
American Express is seeking a highly motivated ServiceNow App Engine Developer with strong expertise in App Engine and Integrated Risk Management (IRM). This role will design, build, and deploy scalable custom applications on the ServiceNow platform to meet dynamic business needs. The ideal candidate will be proficient in workflow automation, data modeling, integrations, and UI development, and will collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development: Design, configure, and develop custom applications on the ServiceNow App Engine platform.
Workflow & Data Modeling: Build scalable workflows, automated processes, and robust data models tailored to business requirements.
IRM Expertise: Configure and enhance ServiceNow IRM modules to strengthen risk and compliance frameworks.
Integration: Develop and support integrations with enterprise systems, APIs, and third-party tools to extend platform functionality.
Testing & Deployment: Participate in unit testing, UAT, and production deployments, ensuring quality, compliance, and performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with ITSM and enterprise architecture.
Platform Optimization: Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot ServiceNow modules to ensure reliability and scalability.
Qualifications & Skills
4+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with a focus on App Engine and IRM.
Proven expertise in designing and deploying custom ServiceNow applications.
Strong knowledge of workflow automation, data modeling, and ServiceNow UI components.
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow APIs, integrations, and scripting (JavaScript, Glide, Flow Designer, Integration Hub).
Familiarity with ITSM processes and enterprise risk/compliance practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to scalability and performance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or ServiceNow IRM certification.
