The brief

Our client is setting up a Data Centre Development business line unit and needs a hands-on consultant to build a pragmatic ISO 9001-ready QMS for ground-up development. ISO 27001 is progressing in a separate workstream; you'll align where processes overlap but won't own 27001.

What you'll deliver

Gap assessment and closure plan to ISO 9001 across the development lifecycle (origination, design, procurement, build, commissioning, handover).
Clear policy hierarchy plus SOPs, work instructions, templates and forms tailored to DC development.
Stage-gate governance with decision rights, RACI, approvals, change control.
Document control: single source of truth, ownership, versioning, retention, audit trail.
Non-conformance & CAPA process stood up and tested.
Tech map: where records live (e.g., SharePoint/Procore/Aconex/Yardi), access roles, evidence capture.
Training pack, quick-start guides and handover to BAU owners.
Audit-readiness evidence for ISO 9001 pre-assessment.

Who you'll work with

London-based development/engineering and corporate teams (operate in UK hours).
External consultants and an external fund administrator for roles/responsibilities and governance alignment.
IT colleagues (non-UK) for tooling, permissions and audit trails.

About you

UK or Europe-based with ground-up development or construction-adjacent experience.
Proven policy/procedure author and process designer; comfortable building governance from zero.
Practical ISO 9001 implementation experience (auditor status not required).
Strong systems thinking; nice-to-have familiarity with Yardi (job cost, commitments, change orders) and/or Procore/Aconex/SharePoint.
Excellent stakeholder facilitation and crisp writing.
