The Role
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to build, maintain, secure, and automate our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for creating robust CI/CD pipelines, implementing critical security controls, and establishing scalable processes to support our high-performance APIs and services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in a growing organisation and has a passion for cloud security.
Responsibilities:
Design, provision, and manage secure cloud infrastructure on GCP using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with Terraform.
Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and efficient application deployment, secret management, and configuration.
Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure operational health. Proactively review reports from automated tools for code, vulnerability, and network scans to identify and address cyber threats.
Collaborate with engineering teams to define, document, and promote best practices for infrastructure, security, and deployment processes in a growing environment.
Requirements
4+ years of hands-on experience in a cloud infrastructure or DevOps role
Demonstrable experience in implementing cloud security controls, managing access, and responding to vulnerabilities
Proven ability to create and document engineering processes from scratch in a growing organisation.
Technical skills:
Strong experience with major cloud providers (GCP or AWS).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.).
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
Solid experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes (k8s).
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana or Datadog.
Proficiency in scripting with Python or an equivalent language
Nice-to-have
Autonomous, self-driven, and able to work well in a fast-paced startup environment.
Good understanding and practical experience with Istio or an equivalent service mesh for traffic management, security, and observability.
Experience working within monorepo codebases
