The Health and Human Services Agency is seeking qualified candidates for the position of:
PRIVACY OFFICER
Interviews will take place the weeks of November 3 and November 10, 2025.

Future Salary Increases
July 2026 - 4.49% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Increase)
July 2027 - 4.49% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Increase)
This position is eligible for appointment at step 1, $113,380.80 annually.
County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for step placement in accordance with Comp Ord 1.3.5.
As a Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Privacy Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HHSA Information Security, Privacy, and/or Compliance programs. This position will ensure that HHSA practices, policies, and procedures related to privacy and compliance issues are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations and requirements. There are currently two (2) vacancies on the Business Assurance and Compliance team.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and/or abilities:
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience implementing Information Security, Compliance, and/or Privacy program elements in a large multi-discipline health and human services or social services organization.
Experience in Information Security, Compliance, and/or Privacy program policy development, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective activities in healthcare or social services, or a related field.
Experience in reviewing and analyzing federal, state, and local regulations and ordinances and developing tools to provide assurances for compliance to such.
Experience performing internal and/or external reviews of compliance of contract terms, program guidelines, and/or policies and procedures.

Required Education And Experience
A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; AND,
Three (3) years of healthcare experience in a large public or private sector organization, performing policy development, planning, directing and coordinating a variety of privacy, information security, and/or compliance initiatives, or conducting healthcare investigations, quality improvement or quality assurance activities.
Notes
Relevant experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year for year basis.
A master's degree or doctoral degree in the described fields from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency, may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.

Job Offer and Background Process begins week of November 24, 2025. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.
