About The Role
Data Lead - HRIS Project
Tarmac/CRH has a mission to improve everyday decision-making through a more data-driven and insight-led approach. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Lead to evolve and improve our Data & Analytics capabilities within our Human Resource transformation program.
The role will be situated within the Data & Analytics (D&A) organisation with the primary objective of embedding a defined data approach within each stage of the project life-cycle, resulting in data designs linked to business priorities and value, robust and quality controlled data foundations, and identification and deployment of Analytic capabilities to improve business process decision-making
The position will work within the project to define and embed rigour around data standards, taxonomies & hierarchies to enable operational and analytical use-cases across different domains, systems and data sources.
Usability and Sustainability of our data is critical to achieve our business goals, and the position will be expected to follow the defined framework and outcomes, whilst providing thought leadership to identify opportunities to improve and evolve the framework through the project
This is a Fixed term contract expected to last one year.
Main responsibilities
In this role you'll:
Embed and execute the Data Delivery Framework within the project stages
Align business goals with data design in source systems and analytical solutions
Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet user needs.
Ensure that policies for data quality, security, privacy, and compliance are adhered to within the project
Perform data discovery, maturity and quality assessments
Facilitate the assignment of data ownership & stewardship responsibilities
Facilitate data standards & taxonomy/hierarchy definitions & cataloging
Facilitate business metrics and KPI definitions
Identify and escalate dependencies which impact data design within the project
Identify data & analytic capabilities which business processes depend on, or improve the process/solution itself
Work closely with the Data Governance team to identify and evolve D&A standards through the project workstream
Work with the Solution Architect and SI Data Architect to ensure solutions are in place to support and manage the integrity of data within the solution and future SAP system
Work with the EDM team to ensure that the strategy and solution to support the governance of data within the Tarmac organisation is defined and aligned
Work with the deployment project teams to ensure that the source data to satisfy master and transactional data requirements is identified and qualified.
Work closely with IT and business teams within the deployment projects to ensure there is a realistic and achievable plan for data to be extracted and translated in readiness for loading into the target systems
Ensure the data stream is ready and engaged to support planning and execution of testing strategy i.e. dress rehearsals, UAT
Provide guidance and mentoring to the Data team by being an advocate for best practices to elevate the effectiveness of the team.
Experience & Qualifications
To be successful in this role you'll need:
Practical experience and execution of data governance & data management practices and tools such as data cataloguing, data discovery, lineage mapping, data dictionaries, data quality/observability and data security, data compliance
The ability to align data initiatives with business goals and drive data maturity across the organisation.
To be able to Identify opportunities where data can drive revenue, reduce cost, or improve customer experience.
To be able to translate complex data into compelling narratives for non-technical audiences
To be able to manage multiple data projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business priorities.
To be self-starting and independent professional
Possess excellent collaboration skills
To be a strategic thinker
To be effective in communicating with stakeholders
