About Us

The hosting structure

Institut Curie Research Center

Institut Curie is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a Hospital group and a Research Center of more than 1000 employees with a strong international representativeness.

The objective of the Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.

Mission

Context

Laboratory

The successful candidate (F/M) will join Valerie Borde's team belonging to the Institut Curie Research Center and affiliated to the Dynamics of Genetic Information department.

The Institut Curie is a highly vibrant research center, offering an international and multidisciplinary research environment in central Paris.

The Chromosome Dynamics and Recombination team led by Valerie Borde, studies the mechanisms involved in the repair of double-strand breaks during meiosis and somatic growth, combining cutting-edge genomics, proteomics and molecular biology technologies (https://institut-curie.org/team/borde). It is a highly dynamic international group currently including 2 PhD students, 1 post-doc, 4 engineers and 2 staff scientists. In addition to in-house scientific and technical skills provided by team members, the post-doctoral fellow will benefit from the stimulating and collaborative environment of the Institut Curie Research Center and from its cutting-edge technological platforms.

The project

This exciting project will focus on the study of the molecular mechanisms of DSB repair in normal and recombination-deficient human cells at defined genomic locations to explore different genomic contexts. The post-doc will use innovative unpublished genomic approaches in combination with genetic, molecular and genome editing approaches. The project will be made with the support from Institut Curie genomic facilities, and from an engineer in the lab for computational analyses.
