Job Description
**Job title** Structured Cabling Data Engineer **Role Summary** Execute installation, fault detection, and maintenance of Structured and Voice Cabling systems across military sites, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and MoD standards. Manage project stock, provide accurate reporting, and support on‑call duties while maintaining mandatory security clearance. **Expactations** - Maintain 100 % SLA adherence for break‑fix and installation tasks. - Keep up‑to‑date inventory records and material controls. - Produce weekly project reports, timesheets, and completion certificates. - Demonstrate professional customer engagement on live sites. - Uphold all statutory safety and construction regulations. **Key Responsibilities** - Install and troubleshoot structured/voice cabling systems per MoD specifications. - Operate Fluke analyzers to locate and resolve faults. - Read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation. - Generate accurate project reports, timesheets, mileage, and completion reports. - Manage material receipts, stock, and documentation. - Participate in on‑call rota and be available for breakthrough requests. - Travel within the UK and overseas as required. - Collaborate with security and customer teams to secure necessary clearances. - Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (working at height, manual handling, etc.). **Required Skills** - Proven experience in structured and voice cabling installation & fault finding. - Competency with Fluke analyzers and other cable testing equipment. - Ability to work within “Live” customer environments and meet MoD standards. - Strong technical reading skills (construction drawings). - Excellent customer interface and communication. - Self‑started, reliable on‑site presence. - Valid UK driving licence (category E). - Able to travel and work on‑call. **Required Education & Certifications** - CNCI (Certified Network Cable Installer) accreditation – mandatory. - UKATA (CAT A) Asbestos Awareness – mandatory. - CSCS/ECS Card – mandatory. - Manual Handling, Working at Height, PASMA/IPAF, IOSH Working Safely – mandatory. - Security Clearance (A) – mandatory (applicable candidate).
