Job Description
Job Title: Contract Lead – Electrical & Building Systems Role Summary: Act as the national escalation point and operational lead for the group's electrical and building systems works. Deliver day‑to‑day scheduling, supervision and quality control for contractor‑led repairs, maintenance and capital works across complex commercial properties. Ensure health & safety, statutory compliance and technical standards are met while achieving KPIs, financial targets and value‑for‑money objectives. Expectations: * Deliver customer‑focused services that meet or exceed agreed KPIs and financial targets. * Manage and drive continuous improvement in service quality, safety and cost efficiency. * Lead teams and contractors, fostering development and maintaining high performance. * Prioritise effectively to meet deadlines, budgets and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Serve as the escalation point for contractor performance and health & safety matters. * Organise, schedule and supervise daily works, ensuring safety, technical standards and quality. * Implement group policies and procedures, producing risk assessments, safe working practices and compliance documentation. * Oversee the commercial portfolio for statutory and group‑led compliance activities (EICR, PAT testing, lightning protection, height safety, automated doors/gates/barriers, shutters). * Manage supplier performance, large‑scale compliance contracts and contractor relationships. * Monitor KPIs, budgets and financial targets, reporting on performance and risks to stakeholders. * Lead and develop staff and contractor teams, driving performance and service improvements. Required Skills: * Proven planning, coordination and supervision of complex commercial electrical and building works. * Leadership experience with teams and contractors, including performance management and staff development. * Knowledge of electrical and building systems, statutory compliance regulations and technical standards. * Strong risk assessment, health & safety and H&S compliance skills. * Budget, KPI and financial target management. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement at all levels. * Problem‑solving, decision‑making and continuous improvement mindset. Required Education & Certifications: * Relevant professional qualification in electrical engineering or building services (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4, City & Guilds, RICS, BPEC, or equivalent). * HSE safety training and electrical safety certification (e.g., IET/BS7671). * Additional certifications relevant to compliance activities (e.g., EICR, PAT testing, HSE 4‑day course) are desirable.
