International Commercial Lawyer
**Role Summary**
Serve as the chief legal advisor to the Board and executive leadership of a global luxury lifestyle and financial services firm. Lead the formulation and execution of legal strategy across the UK, EU, and multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with financial services, payments, data protection, and cross‑border regulatory frameworks. Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performance legal team and external counsel while providing strategic counsel on corporate governance, M&A, joint ventures, and commercial agreements.
**Expectations**
- Deliver strategic legal guidance that aligns with business objectives and manages global regulatory risk.
- Demonstrate commercial judgment and adapt legal solutions to high‑growth, ultra‑high‑net‑worth client environments.
- Provide proactive advice on complex cross‑border and multi‑jurisdictional matters.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own global legal strategy in the UK, EU, and other jurisdictions.
- Advise CEO, C‑suite, and Board on legal, regulatory, and business risk.
- Build and lead a high‑performance legal function; oversee external counsel worldwide.
- Provide counsel on corporate structuring, governance, shareholder matters, and board operations.
- Lead M&A transactions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and market entries.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements (supplier, technology, partnership, client).
- Ensure regulatory compliance for financial services, payments, data protection, and cross‑border operations.
- Align with FCA, FINMA, EU, and other international regulatory frameworks.
**Required Skills**
- Senior UK‑qualified solicitor or equivalent with deep commercial, corporate, regulatory, and international law expertise.
- Proven track record of managing complex cross‑border transactions and navigating global regulatory environments.
- Strong business acumen and ability to partner with senior executives.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, private banking, family office, or luxury sectors.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Qualified solicitor in the UK (or equivalent).
- Relevant professional qualifications in financial services regulation and international law (e.g., FCA, FINMA, EU compliance).
