**Job Title:** Platform Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead the design and implementation of scalable platform infrastructure, focusing on CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, automation, and monitoring systems to support DevOps practices in a Defence and Security Sector environment. **Expectations:** Drive end-to-end platform development, ensuring seamless integration with development teams while enhancing system maintainability, security, and scalability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Configure and optimize Kubernetes environments for scalable deployment. - Design and construct CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins/JetBrains. - Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for consistent cloud/on-premise platform support. - Develop monitoring systems (Prometheus/Grafana) to ensure platform health. - Manage repositories and version control (Git) for collaborative code management. - Automate workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks. - Collaborate with platform and development teams to align capabilities with requirements. - Provide technical guidance on platform best practices. - Monitor trends and adopt emerging technologies for platform enhancement. **Required Skills:** - Kubernetes configuration and container orchestration. - CI/CD pipeline design (Jenkins/GitLab CI). - Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) expertise. - Monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana). - Git repository management and automation practices. - Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) proficiency. - Problem-solving and cross-team collaboration skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). - 5+ years in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability, or related roles. - UK National with eligibility for SC Security Clearance.
