**Job Title:**
Actuarial Intern (Early Careers – 2026 Summer Internship Program)
**Role Summary:**
Interns perform actuarial analyses across four specialty tracks—Retirement Consulting, Health & Benefits Consulting, Risk Consulting, and Reinsurance Consulting. Work involves building projections, valuations, risk assessments, and data-driven recommendations to support client decision-making.
**Expectations:**
• College seniors (expected 2026 graduate) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related fields.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and strong analytical mindset.
• Ability to take initiative, manage time, and collaborate across teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Actuarial Modeling:** Develop stochastic and deterministic projections for pension plans, health plans, P&C loss reserves, and reinsurance contracts.
- **Valuation & Analysis:** Conduct annual pension valuations, health benefit cost analysis, loss forecasting, and capital adequacy assessments.
- **Data Management:** Gather, clean, and validate client data; perform scenario analyses and sensitivity testing.
- **Reporting & Documentation:** Prepare clear reports, presentation materials, and client correspondence; maintain accurate documentation of assumptions and methodologies.
- **Cross‑Functional Collaboration:** Work with client management, legal, HR, and technical teams to gather requirements and communicate findings.
- **Continuous Improvement:** Identify data or process gaps, propose solutions, and contribute to the development of internal tools and templates.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong quantitative and statistical analysis ability.
- Proficient with Excel; experience in SAS, R, Python, or actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, GGY).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Keen attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving aptitude.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Current enrollment in an SOA or CAS‑approved actuarial program.
- At least 3 completed actuarial exams or equivalent coursework in probability, financial mathematics, statistics, economics, and calculus.
- Anticipated 2026 undergraduate graduation.
