**Job Title**
Junior Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Digital Innovation Lead
**Role Summary**
The Junior CTO leads the digital transformation of an international architecture and design firm, aligning technology strategy with business growth. The role involves overseeing IT infrastructure, BIM and other design tools, and driving innovation projects that enhance productivity and quality across multi‑disciplinary teams.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a pragmatic, scalable digital roadmap that supports the firm’s expansion and quality goals.
- Champion the adoption of emerging technologies (BIM, AI, automation, digital twins) within a cross‑functional environment.
- Mentor a small IT team and foster digital competencies across architecture, engineering, and production units.
- Ensure secure, high‑performance systems and consistent standards throughout the organization.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define and maintain the digital transformation strategy, including tool selection, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and innovation initiatives.
- Conduct continuous technology scouting and evaluation of sector‑specific solutions (BIM, AI, robotics, AR/VR).
- Supervise day‑to‑day IT operations: network, servers, security, collaborative platforms, audiovisual equipment.
- Guarantee interoperability and performance of core software (BIM, CAD, ERP, CRM).
- Establish and refine technology standards, workflows, and internal automation solutions (e.g., Revit workbenches, Grasshopper scripts, Dynamo, Python tools).
- Lead pilot projects for new digital platforms and features, partnering with design and engineering teams.
- Manage and develop the small IT team (3 staff) and the digital lab, providing training and skill‑upgrade programs.
- Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders (designers, managers, executives) and drive end‑user adoption.
**Required Skills**
- **Technical**:
- Cloud fundamentals, data governance, cybersecurity (audit & upgrades)
- Programming/scripting (Python, C#, or equivalent)
- Integration of enterprise‑scale digital systems
- Proficiency in BIM and modeling tools (Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo)
- **Management & Communication**:
- Leadership and mentoring of a small technical team
- Strong interpersonal skills for cross‑department collaboration
- Strategic vision, curiosity, and analytical mindset
- **Industry Knowledge**:
- Experience with architecture, design, or construction technology pipelines
- Familiarity with automation and AI applications in design
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Digital Architecture/Design.
- 5–10 years of experience in IT/technology roles, preferably in a SME context with exposure to architecture or construction domains.
- Certifications in cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.
