Job Description
**Job title** Deputy Director for Technology, Data & AI **Role Summary** Senior executive responsible for shaping and delivering the technology, data and AI strategy of a national regulator. Leads a multidisciplinary technology operations team and a newly established Data, Insights & AI function, aligning complex systems with organisational objectives and ensuring secure, user‑centred services. **Expectations** * Deliver measurable transformation outcomes across digital, data and technology domains. * Build inclusive, high‑performing teams and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation. * Champion ethical, responsible use of technology and AI. * Balance long‑term strategy with day‑to‑day delivery of resilient services. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead and manage core technology operations and the Data, Insights & AI function. * Develop and implement data governance, architecture, analytics and AI strategies. * Oversee hybrid delivery models, optimising in‑house and partner teams to maximise value. * Translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome‑focused narratives for senior leaders and non‑technical stakeholders. * Champion responsible, ethical use of technology and AI across the organisation. * Partner with the Executive team to align technology initiatives with organisational priorities. * Ensure the delivery of resilient, secure, user‑centred services that support regulatory and future Martyn’s Law responsibilities. **Required Skills** * Proven senior leadership in digital, data or technology transformation, delivering complex programmes. * Strong technical expertise in data governance, architecture, analytics and AI, with experience using Microsoft enterprise technologies. * Demonstrated supplier and hybrid delivery model management, ensuring high quality and value for money. * Excellent strategic communication, able to simplify technical issues for senior leaders and non‑technical audiences. * Inclusive leadership and influence skills, capable of building trust, engaging diverse stakeholders and fostering high‑performing teams. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology or a related discipline. * Advanced degree or professional certifications in IT governance, data management, AI ethics, or equivalent recognised qualifications are desirable.
