Job Description
Job Title: Experienced Thermal Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design and analysis of building thermal performance, including dynamic simulations, energy and comfort calculations, daylighting studies, and compliance with national and international environmental certification standards. Expectations: • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in building energy modeling and thermal calculations. • Proactive, autonomous, innovative, and collaborative team player. • Ability to manage projects, coordinate with design teams, and deliver client reports. Key Responsibilities: • Perform dynamic thermal simulations and static energy calculations (RT2012, RTexistant, E+C). • Conduct daylighting assessments and simulations per ASHRAE 90.1 and other standards. • Prepare studies for environmental certifications (BREEAM, LEED, HQE, WELL). • Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables related to energy, comfort, and carbon aspects. • Assist in the energy design, comfort, and carbon strategy for construction and renovation projects. • Monitor and validate energy labels and low‑carbon targets. • Draft and approve client-facing deliverables and reports. Required Skills: • Mastery of IES VE, ArchiWizard, DesignBuilder, and/or Energy+ calculation engine. • Strong foundation in HVAC (CVC) systems and building thermal dynamics. • Proficiency in project management and documentation. • Familiarity with programming (C#, Python, SQL) is a plus for model automation and data analysis. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree (BAC+5) in Engineering with a specialization in building thermal, building physics, or energy efficiency. • Valid professional certifications related to energy modeling or environmental standards are advantageous (e.g., ASHRAE, BREEAM, LEED).
