Job Description
**Job title** Infrastructure Engineer **Role summary** Design, build, and maintain enterprise on‑premise and Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for a global technology distributor. **Expectations** - Deliver reliable infrastructure solutions aligned with business continuity and disaster recovery goals. - Actively improve documentation, processes, and automation to support scalable operations. - Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and uphold health & safety standards. **Key responsibilities** - Design, deploy, and upgrade on‑premise and Azure cloud infrastructure. - Maintain servers, SAN/NAS storage, networking (switches, firewalls, wireless). - Monitor infrastructure performance and availability; respond to escalated support tickets. - Execute backup and recovery plans; validate restore procedures. - Develop, test, and update disaster recovery procedures (annual drills). - Implement and manage security controls (Palo Alto firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM). - Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities; stay current with emerging threats. - Produce accurate, up‑to‑date technical documentation and operate incident response. - Collaborate on group security strategy and contribute to performance evaluations. **Required skills** - Hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (deployment & configuration). - Proficiency in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Tenable, Sentinel, Zscaler, Tanium, Illiumo. - Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall management. - Experience with SAN/NAS storage systems and data management best practices. - Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals (encryption, IDS/IPS, firewalling). - Analytical problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and prioritization under pressure. - Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical reporting and presentations. - Team‑oriented mindset with collaborative skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders. **Required education & certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Proven experience deploying and configuring Palo Alto Networks firewalls; relevant certifications (e.g., PAN‑SDE, PAN‑DO) preferred.
