Job title: Commercial Strategy Senior Associate
Role Summary
Support the commercial team of a high‑performance sports organization by driving strategy, revenue growth, and stakeholder engagement across sponsorships, partnerships, merchandise, licensing, e‑commerce, CRM, and entertainment. Work cross‑functionally with Commercial, Communications, Marketing Operations, and Finance to translate data and market insights into actionable roadmaps for senior leadership.

Deliver measurable business impact through new revenue initiatives and strategic projects. Manage stakeholder relationships, present insights, and lead junior talent. Operate independently in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment, balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross‑functional strategic projects to enhance commercial and brand value across sponsorships, partnerships, merchandise, licensing, e‑commerce, CRM, fan engagement, and sustainability.
- Ideate, analyze feasibility, and implement new revenue initiatives; scope, structure, and execute commercial opportunity evaluations using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Translate findings into strategy documents, roadmaps, and senior‑leadership presentations; proactively communicate risks and opportunities.
- Own commercial performance analysis for license holders, sponsorship impact, and other revenue drivers; provide actionable insights.
- Conduct market scans, competitor benchmarking, and trend reports to inform go‑to‑market and fan‑engagement strategies.
- Build sales playbooks, commercial models, and pitch materials for high‑priority industries and target companies, benchmarking against F1 and broader entertainment peers.
- Develop sponsor target lists, tiered by propensity to sponsor, using financial, strategic, and market fit analyses.
- Mentor and manage an industrial placement student, conducting weekly 1:1s and performance reviews.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in top‑tier strategy consulting, management consulting, or investment banking advising blue‑chip corporates in sports, media, technology, or automotive industries.
- Strong strategic thinking, business case development, and financial modeling; expert in MS Excel for complex data analysis and modeling.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint for creating data‑driven, recommendation‑based presentations.
- Structured, analytical mindset with ability to simplify and solve complex commercial problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; proven record of engaging senior stakeholders and driving cross‑functional alignment.
- Project management experience from scoping to execution, delivering measurable impact.
- Time‑management, prioritisation, and multi‑project handling in a high‑performance, deadline‑driven setting.
- Leadership capability, including mentoring junior colleagues.
- Proactive, adaptable, with willingness to learn new approaches and work in diverse teams.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced quantitative or strategic certifications (e.g., CFA, PMP, or Master’s in Business Administration) are desirable but not mandatory.
