**Job Title:** Staff Data Scientist
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI/ML solutions that improve internal operations and customer‑facing experiences, focusing on product quality, authenticity verification, and fraud detection. Drive end‑to‑end model lifecycle, mentor senior data scientists, and collaborate across product, curation, and engineering teams.
**Expactations:**
- 6+ years of experience in data science/ML engineering with strong computer‑vision focus.
- Proven ability to architect, scale, and maintain production AI systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical projects and mentorship of peers.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and own end‑to‑end AI/ML pipelines for image, text, and metadata analysis to detect quality issues, counterfeits, and anomalies.
- Prototype, test, and iterate customer‑facing models (e.g., smart assistance).
- Define requirements with Product and Curation teams; integrate models into workflows.
- Direct data and feedback collection, perform A/B testing, and monitor model performance.
- Ensure seamless deployment using model‑serving frameworks and cloud infrastructure.
- Stay current on AI/ML research; identify and apply new techniques.
- Mentor senior and mid‑level data scientists; promote best practices in modeling and experimentation.
- Communicate technical findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
**Required Skills:**
- Python programming; libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, OpenCV, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers.
- Deep learning, computer vision, anomaly/fraud detection, statistical modeling.
- Model serving/Orchestration: Airflow, TorchServe, TFServing, Triton, REST/gRPC APIs.
- Containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps concepts.
- SQL/NoSQL databases; experience with BigQuery or Snowflake.
- Data visualization and storytelling.
- Optional: experience with chatbot systems, MLOps pipelines, and large‑scale deployment.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
