Job Description
**Job Title:** Security and Governance Analyst **Role Summary:** Provides critical support to the IT function by managing information security, data governance, and compliance across the organization. Works closely with the IT Manager, external suppliers, and internal stakeholders to implement security policies, monitor risk, and ensure regulatory adherence. **Expectations:** - Maintain and improve the organization’s security posture. - Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI‑DSS, and relevant security frameworks. - Deliver accurate reporting to senior management. - Foster cyber‑awareness among staff and manage supplier security performance. - Support business continuity and risk‑management initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Liaise with principal IT suppliers to enforce contracted service standards and security policies. - Review and monitor supply‑chain security preparedness. - Develop and assess cyber‑awareness training programs in partnership with HR and Learning & Development. - Maintain accurate asset registers for software licences and hardware. - Evaluate risks, implement mitigation solutions, and apply OS, firmware, and Microsoft patch updates. - Support GDPR compliance, manage subject‑access requests, and enforce data‑destruction policies. - Oversee daily security checks, incident follow‑up, and DLP controls using Microsoft compliance tools. - Produce monthly/quarterly security and management reports using preferred reporting tools. - Participate in risk‑management processes, internal/external audits, and IT project compliance reviews. - Design and implement security governance frameworks aligned with organizational objectives. - Stay current on emerging cyber threats and industry best practices. - Perform business continuity duties as required. **Required Skills:** - Knowledge of GDPR, PCI‑DSS, and security patching (hardware firmware, Microsoft). - Experience with Microsoft Defender, asset management, and management reporting. - Ability to work with security frameworks and operational risk‑management processes. - Proficiency in third‑party (MSP/CSOC) management and cyber‑awareness program design (desirable). - Familiarity with SIEM solutions (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel), Microsoft Purview, and ISO 27001/NIS2 (desirable). **Required Education & Certifications:** - CompTIA Security+ and/or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or equivalent. - Achieved Cyber Essentials / CE+ certification. - Relevant experience with data protection and compliance. - Full driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites. - Ability to pass standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
