**Job Title**
AWS Security Expert (Remote Contract)
**Role Summary**
Seasoned AWS security consultant responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructures at scale. Delivers Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) solutions, supports large‑scale AWS environments, and integrates security controls into CI/CD pipelines and orchestration processes.
**Expectations**
- Provide expert guidance on AWS security best practices.
- Ensure compliance and risk mitigation across all cloud assets.
- Deliver high‑quality IaC and automation with repeatable, scalable deployments.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security in the software delivery lifecycle.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement secure AWS architectures using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and remediation planning for existing workloads.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security testing and controls.
- Create orchestration strategies for automated, repeatable deployments.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for AWS infrastructure in a large, multi‑account environment.
- Produce documentation, security guidelines, and knowledge‑transfer materials for client teams.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, WAF, etc.).
- Strong proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
- Experience building and securing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CodePipeline, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking, encryption, identity & access management, and compliance frameworks (PCI‑DSS, GDPR, SOC 2).
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty (required).
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional) are a plus.
