Job Title: Senior Performance Test Engineer
Role Summary: Deliver end‑to‑end performance and load testing for large‑scale digital services and backend applications in cloud environments. Design, execute, and analyze tests for load, stress, volume, soak, and scalability scenarios, integrating findings into the CI/CD pipeline and collaborating with development, architecture, platform, and operations teams.
Expectations: Own the accuracy and quality of all performance test artefacts and results. Define performance NFRs and validate capacity assumptions. Meet scheduled delivery milestones for testing activities, provide defect triage and test completion evidence, and report findings to stakeholders. Operate under the direction of a Lead Performance Tester or Test Manager; no final assurance authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and run load, stress, volume, soak, and scalability tests in AWS non‑production environments.
- Analyze performance metrics, logs, and monitoring data to identify bottlenecks and validate capacity assumptions.
- Prepare and maintain test scripts, runbooks, and execution plans.
- Raise performance defects with documented evidence and support defect resolution.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Contribute to test reports, defect triage, and evidence of test completion.
- Work closely with developers, architects, platform, and operations teams to refine performance requirements.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in performance testing of enterprise systems.
- Hands‑on proficiency with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, k6 (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of APIs, HTTP, databases, messaging, caching, and backend/distributed system performance.
- Ability to analyze logs and monitoring data from applications and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery models and with regulated or high‑assurance environments.
- Desirable: experience with APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Elastic Stack with Kibana/Grafana).
