Job Description
Job title: IT Support Role Summary: Provide technical support to end users, maintain hardware and software, manage helpdesk tickets, and assist with installations to ensure reliable IT operations. Expectations: - Reliable, proactive, and customer‑focused. - Ability to work within a 35‑hour week and accommodate occasional out‑of‑hours or overnight deployments when required. - Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams. Key Responsibilities: - Respond to helpdesk tickets and calls, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues. - Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals, including Windows, macOS, and common office software. - Manage user accounts, permissions, and groups in Active Directory or equivalent directory services. - Document solutions and maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge base. - Assist with IT projects and installations, including overnight or weekend deployments. - Monitor and report on hardware inventory, performance, and status. - Ensure compliance with security policies, perform routine backups, and support disaster recovery activities. - Provide basic end‑user training and guidance on best practices. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Windows and macOS troubleshooting. - Basic networking knowledge (LAN, Wi‑Fi, IP addressing). - Experience with Active Directory or similar directory services. - Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Freshservice). - Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and time‑management skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Required Education & Certifications: - High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant post‑secondary education). - IT support certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate). - ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
