**Job Title**
Automation Engineer (Automation Technician) – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
**Role Summary**
Maintain, improve, and ensure compliance of automated production systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant under GMP/BPF, HSE and regulatory standards. Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of PLCs, supervisory systems, and industrial networks; development and optimization of automation programs; documentation control; and support of quality and audit processes.
**Expectations**
- Deliver reliable uptime of automated equipment while adhering to GMP, BPF, and safety regulations.
- Conduct accurate fault diagnosis, propose and implement corrective actions, and document all interventions.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams to integrate new equipment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Corrective and preventive maintenance of PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networking equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair automation and electrical faults; develop and update PLC programs (Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell).
- Update, manage, and safeguard technical documentation (program backups, nomenclatures, drawings, schematics).
- Participate in equipment qualification (IQ/OQ), factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Draft functional specifications, SDS/FDS, and associated technical documentation.
- Support continuous‑improvement projects for performance, digitization, and safety.
- Apply BPF/GMP quality standards and prepare for internal and external audits (ANSM, FDA).
- Maintain traceability of interventions via CMMS/GAP tools.
- Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance technicians; respond to on‑call technical shifts as required.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell).
- Knowledge of industrial supervision systems and SCADA.
- Familiarity with CMMS/GAP tools for maintenance management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Methodical approach to quality compliance and regulatory audit preparation.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s level (Bac +2 to Bac +5) in Automation, Industrial Electronics, or related field (BTS CIRA, BTS Automatisme, DUT GEII, Professional License in Automation, Automation/Instrumentation Engineer, or equivalent).
- Experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated industrial environments is preferred.
- Certifications in PLC programming or industrial automation (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell) are advantageous.
