**Job title** Salesforce Data Cloud Engineer (Software Engineer III) **Role Summary** Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise data solutions on Salesforce Data Cloud. Serve as a technical subject matter expert in identity resolution, data governance, and cross‑platform application integration, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring secure, compliant data pipelines. **Expectations** - Deliver architecture and implementation for Data Cloud pipelines, unified profiling, and privacy‑safe activation. - Maintain secure development practices, continuous improvement, and clear technical documentation. - Mentor Software Engineers I‑II, providing code reviews and technical guidance. - Collaborate with product, marketing, analytics, and CRM stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Data Cloud & Unified Profile Engineering** - Design, build, and optimize Data Streams, DMOs, Data Graphs, and Calculated Insights. - Define and tune deterministic/probabilistic identity resolution rulesets. - Construct Segments and Activation flows across Marketing Cloud, Advertising, Sales/Service Cloud, and Commerce Cloud with privacy‑safe matching. - Implement consent modeling, GDPR/CCPA controls, and data governance across ingestion, unification, storage, and activation. 2. **Data Engineering & Platform Reliability** - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated data quality checks, monitoring, data lineage, and SLA reporting. - Collaborate on lakehouse federation and zero‑copy patterns using Amazon Redshift, Databricks, and related analytics platforms. - Architect ETL/ELT processes with SQL, Kafka/Kinesis, REST/GraphQL APIs, and microservices. - Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues across interconnected systems. 3. **Application Development & Leadership** - Apply best practices across front‑end, back‑end, and data layers, ensuring code quality and security. - Develop, test, debug, document, and maintain complex applications supporting enterprise systems. - Engage with users, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to capture requirements and validate enhancements. 4. **Continuous Learning & Technical Governance** - Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Salesforce ecosystem advancements. - Maintain comprehensive documentation (flowcharts, diagrams, data dictionaries, design specs) for operational continuity. **Required Skills** - 5+ years data engineering, CRM, or CDP experience; 2+ years Salesforce Data Cloud or equivalent enterprise CDP. - Proficient SQL; hands‑on with Data Cloud entities (DMOs, Data Streams, Data Graphs, Insights, Segments, Activation). - Experience activating audiences across Marketing Cloud, Advertising, Sales/Service Cloud, or Commerce Cloud. - ETL/ELT pipeline design, streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis), REST/GraphQL APIs, Git‑based CI/CD. - Strong understanding of identity resolution, data governance, consent modeling, and privacy compliance (GDPR/CCPA). - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and mentorship abilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (5–8 years technical programming experience). - Salesforce certifications (e.g., Data Cloud Developer, Platform Developer) preferred.
