Job Title: Director of Security
Role Summary
Lead and manage security operations across multiple casino properties, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and risk mitigation. Partner with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams to protect guests, staff, assets, and reputation while driving continuous improvement in security programs and emergency preparedness.
Expectations
- Hold a Nebraska Gaming License and meet all licensing requirements.
- Manage a 24/7 operation with willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel weekly between Omaha and Lincoln property locations.
- Deliver measurable performance through KPIs, audits, and training programs.
- Maintain budgets, staffing, and vendor relationships within approved limits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee security operations for all WarHorse Gaming casino and corporate sites.
2. Ensure full compliance with Nebraska Gaming Commission regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
3. Develop, implement, and enforce company‑wide security strategies, SOPs, post orders, and governance standards.
4. Establish KPIs, conduct audits, inspections, and corrective action programs to drive performance and accountability.
5. Lead incident management, including emergencies, evacuations, guest injuries, investigations, and business disruptions.
6. Conduct investigations of theft, fraud, guest incidents, workplace violence, and property damage; document and escalate appropriately.
7. Partner with Surveillance, Compliance, HR, Operations, Facilities, IT, and executive leadership on access controls and internal security processes.
8. Manage department budgets, staffing plans, overtime, equipment, uniforms, and capital requests.
9. Select, contract, and supervise security vendors and service providers.
10. Provide security design input for new construction and expansion projects.
11. Maintain relationships with law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory partners.
12. Oversee OSHA safety initiatives, incident reporting, hazard prevention, and ADA compliance in emergency and evacuation planning.
13. Lead risk management and loss prevention strategies.
14. Develop multi‑property training programs and leadership development for security teams.
15. Drive disaster preparedness planning, drills, and emergency response readiness.
16. Prepare executive‑level reports on trends, costs, compliance, and recommendations.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Strategic leadership and operations management in a casino security context.
- Deep knowledge of Nebraska Gaming Commission regulations, internal controls, and casino security best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Experience in incident management, investigations, and emergency response.
- Budgeting, staffing, and vendor management expertise.
- Excellent communication, conflict management, and de‑escalation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint for reporting and documentation.
- Integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to thrive in high‑pressure environments.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional certification and experience.
- Minimum ten years of casino security experience, including five years in progressive leadership/management roles.
- Preferred certifications: CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PCI (Professional Certified Investigator), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CPR Certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
