Job Description

Job title: Senior Cloud Architect Role Summary: Design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure multi‑cloud environments for a federal bi‑agency partner landscape. Lead cloud migrations, architecture reviews, and integration of vendor services, ensuring compliance with security frameworks and cost efficiency. Expectations: - Deliver C‑level architecture direction and technical instruction. - Act as the subject‑matter expert on multi‑cloud strategy, migration, and modernization. - Mentor cross‑functional teams and align architecture with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Own end‑to‑end cloud migration projects, from assessment to operational hand‑off. - Develop architecture diagrams, deployment plans, and service integration guides across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. - Work with security and networking groups to design firewalls, routing, and Zero‑Trust controls. - Automate deployments via CI/CD pipelines and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM). - Monitor and tune performance, reliability, and cost using observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana). - Identify and implement cloud‑native best practices, governance, and standardization. Required Skills: - 10+ years in enterprise cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP). - 10+ years of experience in cloud migration and modernization, multi‑cloud and hybrid architectures. - 7+ years in design/implementation of cloud solutions, cost optimization, risk assessment. - 5+ years networking fundamentals (VPC, subnets, load balancing, DNS, firewalls). - 5+ years security/compliance (Zero‑Trust, IAM, FedRAMP). - 5+ years scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash). - 5+ years monitoring/observability (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana). - 3+ years CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - 3+ years IaC (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM).
