Job Description
**Job Title:** Funding Mission Officer **Role Summary:** Responsible for diversifying and expanding the financing of the OPALE Association, a national research consortium focused on leukemia and related cancers. The role involves identifying new funding opportunities, conducting feasibility analyses, preparing and submitting proposals, and managing early-stage projects through to funding receipt and initial revenue generation. **Expactations:** - Deliver at least €100 k of new funding in Year 1. - Achieve €1 M of new annual funding by Year 4. **Key Responsibilities:** - Scan industry, institutional, and philanthropic landscapes to identify complementary funding sources. - Perform feasibility studies: rationale, benchmarking, financial/non‑financial targets, internal/external resource mapping, partner and contractor identification, cost estimates, budgets, and timelines. - Draft and submit proposals for calls, projects, or bids; create specifications and coordinate with domain experts. - Secure partners or contractors for product/service development; negotiate terms where needed. - Manage projects in initial phases, including development and commercialization of products/services, until funding is secured and/or first revenues realized. - Communicate funding status and resource requirements to project leads, facilitating autonomous project operations. - Liaise with legal, business development, and communications teams throughout all phases. **Required Skills:** - Deep understanding of industrial, institutional, and philanthropic funding mechanisms. - Strong project management, budgeting, and financial analysis. - Proposal writing and technical specification drafting. - Partnership building, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration. - Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Proven experience in research funding, grant management, or fundraising activities. - Familiarity with public research funding frameworks (e.g., European Commission, national agencies) is preferred.
