Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) **Role Summary:** Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise‑grade Azure platforms within a highly regulated financial services environment. Serve as the technical authority for secure, scalable Azure landing zones, large‑scale VMware‑to‑Azure migrations, and cloud governance, while mentoring engineers and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and operational standards. **Expectations:** - Define and enforce cloud architecture standards and best practices. - Deliver end‑to‑end migration projects with minimal disruption. - Promote automation, cost efficiency, and security across the cloud estate. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (cybersecurity, operations, enterprise architecture). - Produce clear technical documentation and provide mentorship. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Architect and deploy secure, scalable Azure landing zones for hybrid and native workloads. 2. Execute VMware estate migrations to Azure using Azure Migrate, ASR, or HCX. 3. Implement governance, policy, cost‑management, and security controls. 4. Drive Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) adoption with Bicep, Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines. 5. Configure and optimize monitoring solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights). 6. Manage Azure networking components (VNETs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, firewalls) and hybrid connectivity. 7. Provide Windows Server and Linux administration in hybrid environments. 8. Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation; mentor junior engineers. **Required Skills:** - Deep expertise in Azure IaaS (compute, storage, networking). - Strong knowledge of Azure networking (VNET, ExpressRoute, NSG, firewalls). - Proven experience with VMware‑to‑Azure migrations. - Proficiency in IaC tools: Terraform and/or Bicep. - CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps. - Monitoring/observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights. - Solid understanding of cloud governance, cost optimization, and security best practices. - Windows Server and Linux administration in hybrid settings. - Excellent documentation and communication abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert). - Optional but preferred: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or related cloud migration certifications.
