Job Description

Job title Senior Project Manager – Major Projects Role Summary Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver large‑scale projects, from feasibility studies to commercial bids, while ensuring performance, cost control, and client satisfaction. Expectations - Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all major projects. - Drive business growth through proactive client acquisition and relationship management. - Continuously improve project delivery tools, processes, and competitive positioning. Key Responsibilities - Head a project team, fostering cohesion and optimizing performance. - Plan and allocate resources, define objectives, and monitor KPIs. - Prospect new business, manage key client portfolios, and represent the company in negotiations. - Analyze tender documents, prepare cost estimates, and draft technically compliant proposals. - Conduct preliminary sizing of special works (injection, foundations) and validate quotes against feasibility studies, material costs, labour and timelines. - Propose technical and financial optimisations to enhance bid competitiveness. - Participate in technical meetings with control offices, owners, contractors and suppliers; produce execution plans in coordination with project stakeholders. - Manage the studies team, coordinating engineers and technicians. - Track tender outcomes, implement improvement actions, and refine estimation tools and internal databases. - Maintain awareness of technical, regulatory, and market trends; contribute to service objective setting and performance tracking. Required Skills - Proven project management experience across complex civil engineering or construction projects. - Strong commercial acumen: client prospecting, portfolio management, and negotiation. - Expertise in technical drafting, tendering, and cost estimation. - Leadership and team management skills, with a track record of driving team performance. - Analytical mindset; ability to interpret technical studies and translate them into actionable plans. - Ability to coordinate with multiple external and internal stakeholders. - Continuous improvement mindset: process optimisation, data-driven decision making. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Construction, or related field). - Professional project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) highly desired. - Additional certifications in cost engineering or commercial management are a plus.
