Founded in 2015 in Buffalo, NY, GTI has rapidly expanded with advanced manufacturing facilities in Buffalo, Phoenix, and Monterrey, offering over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of combined production space. Job Description
Job Title Computer Science / Data Science Intern Role Summary Provide analytical support for manufacturing systems, turning production data into actionable insights through dashboards, reporting, and data integration. Expactations - 20–40 hrs/week internship, paid. - Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and business systems teams. - Deliver data solutions that improve operational visibility and efficiency. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for production, quality, and inventory metrics. - Extract, clean, and analyze data from ERP/MES systems. - Automate manual reporting workflows using scripts or data tools. - Write SQL queries and contribute to data modeling efforts. - Participate in manufacturing system improvement projects. - Document system workflows, data definitions, and reporting logic. - Coordinate with engineering and operations staff to understand data requirements. Required Skills - Python, SQL, or equivalent programming experience. - Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and analysis. - Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. - Interest in manufacturing systems, analytics, or industrial technology. Required Education & Certifications - Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related degree program. - No mandatory certifications; coursework or knowledge in data analytics and manufacturing systems preferred.
