Job Description

**Job Title:** Python Engineer Lead **Role Summary:** Lead the design, development, and delivery of backend services using Python, primarily with Flask and FastAPI. Own the architecture of API layers, data flow, and infrastructure from code to production on AWS, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable systems. **Expectations:** - Architect solutions within broader business systems. - Design end‑to‑end data flow from PostgreSQL to APIs. - Execute advanced Python coding, including typing and modern web frameworks. - Build scalable, service‑oriented APIs. - Leverage SQL expertise for complex queries. - Collaborate across cross‑functional teams. - Prioritize code quality through testing and peer reviews. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead backend architecture and technical direction. - Refactor legacy Flask services to FastAPI with type annotations. - Implement and maintain PostgreSQL schemas and performant queries. - Design and deploy serverless Lambda functions and Dockerized services on AWS ECS. - Write unit, integration, and performance tests. - Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices. - Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in Python 3.8+, Flask, FastAPI, and type‑hinting. - Deep experience with PostgreSQL and complex SQL. - AWS services: Lambda, ECS, ECR, RDS, S3. - Containerization with Docker. - Strong understanding of SOA, RESTful APIs, and async programming. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. - Test‑driven development, unit/integration testing frameworks. - Excellent communication and collaboration. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - (Preferred) AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Developer – Associate. - (Optional) PostgreSQL or SQL proficiency certifications.
