Job Description
Engineer - Research Software Engineer (Robotics) **Role Summary** Develop industrial robotics and automation solutions for government and commercial clients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance technologies in robotics, mechatronics, and autonomous systems. Focus on mechanical design, software/controls integration, and client-facing innovation. **Expectations** Deliver technical solutions, coordinate tasks with project teams, prepare proposals, and define project requirements. Requires mechanical design focus and client collaboration to expand automation applications. **Key Responsibilities** Communicate with stakeholders to align project goals; develop hardware/software for robotics systems; test and deploy solutions at client facilities; support proposal development; coordinate performance objectives with organizational goals. **Required Skills** Mechanical design expertise (CAD, mechanisms); software development (C++, Python, ROS); robotics systems integration; problem-solving for automation challenges; strong written/verbal communication; valid driver’s license. **Required Education & Certifications** Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 0–5 years of relevant research, academic, or industry experience (BS: internships/research; MS/PhD: graduate robotics/mechatronics focus).
