**Job Title:** Instrumentation Engineer – Water & Wastewater
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and commission instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment projects. Lead SCADA architecture, PLC programming, and automation solutions, ensuring reliable, efficient, and compliant operation while providing technical guidance to clients and project teams.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver complete engineering documentation and design packages from concept through commissioning.
- Act as trusted advisor on SCADA, instrumentation, and cyber‑secure control solutions.
- Drive innovation (cloud‑based SCADA, IoT, predictive analytics) to enhance plant performance.
- Support business development through proposals, cost estimates, and client interactions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Create P&IDs, layout drawings, process control narratives, and detailed engineering reports.
- Design and support SCADA system architectures, PLC code, and communication protocols.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance evaluations.
- Review submittals, perform factory and field testing, and assist with start‑up and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation/control issues on‑site.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, CAD staff, contractors, and vendors to meet schedule and scope.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work for new opportunities.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years experience with SCADA, PLC programming, and field instrumentation in water/wastewater facilities.
- Proficiency in SCADA platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX) and PLC hardware/software (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Schneider).
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP) and cyber‑security best practices for critical infrastructure.
- Ability to develop and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and engineering specifications.
- Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and field support capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication; strong teamwork and stakeholder management.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation preferred but not mandatory.
- Relevant certifications in SCADA, PLCs, or industrial automation (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443, Certified Automation Professional) are a plus.
