Job Description

**Job Title:** Semi-Senior Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Software engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining backend services that power payment processing, risk controls, and transaction flows in a fintech platform. Works closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable cloud‑native solutions on Google Cloud Platform. **Expectations:** - 2–5 years of professional software development experience. - Proven ability to take ownership of features and contribute to architectural decisions. - Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑functional environment. - Commitment to writing clean, testable code and continuously improving development pipelines. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services (e.g., Flask/FastAPI). - Contribute to system architecture and scaling strategies for payment and financial workflows. - Implement and consume RESTful APIs; work with SQL and NoSQL databases. - Utilize GCP services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Firestore, BigQuery, Cloud Run, etc., to build cloud‑native components. - Troubleshoot production incidents and implement long‑term fixes. - Enhance CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer tooling (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes, NewRelic, PagerDuty). - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and peers to define requirements and deliver solutions. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in Python and backend development fundamentals. - Experience with RESTful API design and implementation. - Working knowledge of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases. - Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services (preferred). - Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and fault tolerance. - Basic exposure to container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform). - Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in an Agile environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Engineer) are a plus but not mandatory.
