Job Description
**Job Title** PLC Programmer **Role Summary** Design, develop, and commission programmable logic controller (PLC) systems for car‑park ventilation and smoke control solutions. Program, test, and troubleshoot control panels on‑site and in‑house, ensuring reliable and compliant operation. **Expectations** * Deliver functional PLC programs within project timelines. * Maintain accurate technical documentation and version control. * Uphold safety and industry standards throughout development and commissioning. * Provide timely technical support to maintenance teams and end users. **Key Responsibilities** - Design ladder logic, structured text, and function block programs for ventilation and smoke control applications. - Program PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider Electric, etc.) and HMI graphics. - Conduct laboratory and on‑site testing, debugging, and verification of PLC logic. - Commission control panels, integrating PLCs with drives, sensors, and safety devices. - Troubleshoot electrical and software issues during commissioning and routine operation. - Document all development, test, and commissioning activities. - Train on‑site personnel on system operation and basic maintenance. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in PLC programming languages (ladder, structured text, function block). - Experience with PLC brands used in ventilation/smoke control (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider Electric). - Knowledge of motor drives, VFDs, and typical industrial sensors. - Familiarity with communication protocols: Modbus, PROFIBUS, Ethernet/IP, CANopen. - Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and data sheets. - Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving abilities. - Competence in technical documentation and version control. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or equivalent technical training. - PLC certification (e.g., Siemens Certified Programmer, Allen‑Bradley Certified Programmer, or equivalent). - Knowledge of safety codes such as IEC 61508, NFPA 13, or local ventilation/smoke control regulations.
