Data Center Controls Technician – Deployment
**Role Summary**
Deploy, service, and upgrade Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across multiple data centers. Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance while mentoring facility staff, managing assets, and ensuring safety and compliance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Deploy, test, troubleshoot, and commission BMS/EPMS equipment.
- Mentor and train facility teams on system operation and controls.
- Audit, maintain, and update enterprise asset‑management records.
- Manage and supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors.
- Perform point‑to‑point checkouts and first‑line diagnostics of controllers, PLCs, and industrial PCs.
- Provision servers, controllers, network configurations, and perform communication testing.
- Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors and field devices.
- Create red‑lined drawings and technical documentation.
- Follow change‑management processes for work requests and procedures.
- Participate in vendor factory‑witnessed tests.
- Recommend design improvements and conduct root‑cause analysis during commissioning.
- Ensure on‑site personnel adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage service agreements, vendor labor scheduling, quality assurance, and invoice reviews.
- Monitor ticketing systems, prioritize tasks, and perform root‑cause analysis for ongoing issues.
**Required Skills**
- Industrial control systems knowledge (BMS, EPMS, PLCs).
- Wiring, networking, and field‑device programming (e.g., ladder logic, CODESYS).
- Electrical and mechanical systems troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, panel drawings, and control‑panel diagrams.
- Basic understanding of closed‑loop controls and sensor scaling.
- Project management and documentation skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and mentorship capabilities.
- Safety awareness and compliance (OSHA, Electrical).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- High‑school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, HVAC, or related field preferred.
- Certifications: ISA‑Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or equivalent, OSHA 10/30, HVAC/Air‑Conditioning certification, and networking certification (e.g., CCNA) ideally.
