Flex is a simple app that’s changing the way the world pays and collects rent. Our technology makes the 1st of the month easy for renters and properties.

For renters, we pay the rent on the 1st and let you pay it back when it works better for your budget. We help you buy some time (or whatever else you’re eyeing).

For properties, we help you collect more and stress less. And we do the previously impossible by turning rent collection into a marketable amenity.

Job Description

Job Title: VP, Strategic Finance Role Summary: Senior finance leader reporting directly to the CFO. Owns strategic finance operations, drives financial planning, modeling, and decision support for company growth. Leads a cross‑functional team delivering financial insights to the executive team, board, and investors. Expectations: • 8+ years progressive FP&A / strategic finance experience in high‑growth tech/fintech/financial services. • Proven track record of scaling finance teams and systems. • Strong analytical rigor, model building, and detail orientation. • Executive‑level communication and partnership skills. • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead and grow the Strategic Finance team, ensuring analytical rigor and a blend of finance, data, and strategy. 2. Partner with business, product, and operations leaders to translate strategy into financial/operational goals. 3. Evaluate strategic opportunities (new product launches, pricing, M&A), develop investment cases, and track performance. 4. Design and deliver board‑ and investor‑ready analyses, presentations, and insights. 5. Own the annual operating plan, forecasting cadence, long‑range planning, and scenario modeling. 6. Develop unit economics, contribution margin, and ROI frameworks across initiatives. 7. Build, refine, and maintain financial models and reporting tools to drive predictability and accountability. 8. Collaborate with Accounting and Data teams to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. 9. Enhance operating rhythm through KPIs, dashboards, and variance analytics. 10. Support capital planning, fundraising, and investor relations initiatives in partnership with the CFO. Required Skills: • Advanced financial modeling & scenario analysis • Strategic thinking and operational execution • Leadership and team development • Cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder influence • Executive‑level communication and presentation • Proficiency in FP&A tools, dashboards, and data analysis platforms Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. • Additional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA) are a plus but not mandatory.
