Job Description
Job Title: Junior Security Analyst Co-op **Role Summary** Support IT security operations through assessments, monitoring, incident analysis, and compliance activities. **Expectations** Enrolled in a recognized co-op program pursuing a diploma, bachelor’s, or post-graduate degree in a relevant field. Position is 4 months (Spring 2026 term). Hybrid work model required, with 40% minimum in-office presence. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct security threat and risk assessments. - Monitor and analyze event logs for anomalous activity. - Assist in incident investigations and remediation. - Author and maintain security bulletins. - Validate system security configurations and controls. - Support hardware/software security configuration standards. - Monitor dark web for potential threats. - Collaborate with Security Operations Centre (SOC) on proactive threat detection. **Required Skills** - Foundational knowledge of IT security principles and protocols. - Familiarity with security assessment tools and log analysis. - Ability to identify and document security risks. - Communication skills to summarize technical findings. - Incident response and investigative techniques. **Required Education & Certifications** - Currently registered in an accredited co-op program (diploma, bachelor’s, or graduate level) in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or related discipline. - No specific certifications required; relevant academic coursework preferred.
