Job Description
**Job title**: Technical Sales Manager **Role Summary** Lead strategic sales of technical capital equipment in the central region, converting inbound and self-generated leads through the entire sales cycle to purchase order placements and ongoing account management. Identify and develop new business opportunities, maintain and expand relationships with existing customers, and collaborate with technical and sales teams to meet customer requirements. **Expectations** - Generate and convert leads, achieving or exceeding sales quotas. - Travel up to 75 % of the time to serve a national customer base. - Operate independently while supporting team objectives. - Use CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics) and MS Office to manage pipeline and reporting. **Key Responsibilities** - Prospect new markets, clients, and partnerships within the assigned region. - Build, assess, and nurture customer relationships; understand needs and propose tailored solutions. - Manage the complete sales process: planning, quoting, negotiating, closing, and post‑sale support. - Produce accurate sales forecasts, monitor performance data, and adjust strategies accordingly. - Collaborate with Technical Sales Engineers to ensure product fit and specification alignment. - Attend industry conferences and events to stay current on trends and build network. - Maintain knowledge of company offerings, competitive landscape, and market positioning. **Required Skills** - Minimum 10 years of experience selling capital equipment and technical solutions. - Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and converting self‑generated leads. - Strong sales cycle management: prospecting, qualification, proposal, negotiation, close. - Advanced communication and presentation skills; ability to pitch complex solutions clearly. - Strategic and creative thinking; ability to develop and implement business plans. - Commercial awareness, business acumen and sound marketing principles. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical analysis tools. - High proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics). - Excellent time‑management, multitasking, and self‑motivation. - Technical aptitude to understand product specifications and customer requirements. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred). - Valid UK full driving licence. - Experience with quoting projects £100k+ is an advantage.
