Job Description

**Job title** Senior Data Scientist **Role Summary** Lead the development and maintenance of predictive analytics for the U.S. Marine Corps C‑130 global supply chain. Build, validate, and operationalize statistical and machine‑learning models to forecast demand, optimize resource allocation, and improve operational effectiveness. Drive best practices in data science, analytics, and visualization across the organization. **Expactations** - Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to hold or obtain a security clearance (Top Secret preferred). - Deliver actionable insights and repeatable model templates that align with stakeholder requirements. - Lead quality assurance, documentation, and knowledge transfer for data science initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** - Evaluate multi‑dimensional supply‑chain and operational data. - Design, develop, and deploy generalized linear, multilinear, logistic, multinomial, and time‑series models. - Apply supervised learning (classification, regression) and unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction). - Build data pipelines, perform data wrangling, and ensure data quality protocols. - Create technical documentation for data collection, cleaning, and analysis processes. - Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions. - Mentor and coach junior data scientists on best practices and industry standards. - Coordinate with software development teams to integrate models into production systems. **Required Skills** - 7+ years of experience in advanced classification and regression modeling. - Proficiency in R or Python for data wrangling and model building. - Strong statistical analysis, data visualization, and documentation abilities. - Experience with SQL or Spark SQL, basic database design, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with high accuracy. - Excellent written and oral communication; adept at conveying complex concepts to non‑technical audiences. - Aviation background (required). **Required Education & Certifications** - MSc or PhD in applied mathematics, statistics, or equivalent professional experience. - Active security clearance or ability to obtain one. - Preferred: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure professional certification. - Preferred: Top Secret clearance, supply‑chain data systems experience, and DoD/VA mission support.
