Job Description
Job Title: Engineering Intern – Modeling Role Summary: Assist in the design and optimisation of anode furnaces for aluminium production by running advanced simulations, validating models against operational data, and updating operational procedures. Expectations: Complete a 2‑4 month internship, producing validated simulation models, performance characterisations, updated operational documents, and actionable recommendations. Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and strong communication. Key Responsibilities: - Operate the latest simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS) on existing furnace designs. - Calibrate and validate models using real‑world performance data. - Propose new methods to characterise design performance and compare with operational results. - Update operating procedures with new calculation methods as required. - Collaborate with design engineers and process experts. - Prepare clear reports and communicate findings to stakeholders. Required Skills: - Proficiency with simulation software, preferably ANSYS. - Strong analytical and technical curiosity. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Ability to work independently, adapt to evolving priorities, and document results clearly. Required Education & Certifications: - Final year (Master II) student in Engineering, specialising in Modeling or Process Engineering. - Knowledge of aluminium production processes or furnace design is advantageous. - No specific certifications required.
