Job Description
Job Title: Decision Scientist (Credit) Role Summary: Entry‑level analytics role focused on credit risk strategy within a lending organization. Responsible for forecasting loss rates, segmentation analysis, and providing data‑driven insights to optimise loan portfolio performance and business operations. Expectations: - Deliver actionable analytics for credit strategy decisions. - Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders across engineering, operations, and business functions. - Work independently on open‑ended problems and drive continuous improvement in risk assessment. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and analyse credit strategy, identify trends, and recommend optimization of lending parameters. - Conduct loss‑rate forecasting, portfolio segmentation, and other credit analytics. - Perform ad‑hoc analyses to support business decisions, produce reports and dashboards. - Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement strategy changes and ensure smooth day‑to‑day lending operations. - Identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate credit risk, issues, and control weaknesses. Required Skills: - Strong quantitative and analytical mindset. - Proficient in Excel and at least one programming/visualisation language (SQL, Python, R, Tableau; SAS acceptable). - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate data into actionable insights. - Experience in stakeholder engagement and presentation of analytical results. - Knowledge of portfolio modelling principles, including cash‑flow modelling and performance measurement. - Self‑motivated, curious, and able to solve complex problems independently. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. - No specific certifications required.
